Description
The Solo-60 is a tweeter from Pride, built to bring real performance to your car audio system. It completes a system by extending the top end for brighter, more detailed sound. Whether you are upgrading a factory setup or building something more serious, the Solo-60 is designed to deliver dependable results that you can hear.
The Solo-60 is chosen by installers who want a component that simply works, integrating cleanly into the rest of the build. Instead of chasing gimmicks, the Solo-60 focuses on doing its core job well so the whole system benefits.
It adds crisp, clear high-frequency detail that factory speakers usually miss. In short, the Solo-60 is a practical, no-nonsense choice for anyone who wants to move past the limits of a stock system without overcomplicating the build.

INSTALLATION & COMPATIBILITY
Install it near ear level for the best imaging, high-pass it with a crossover, and set the level so the highs stay smooth rather than harsh.
Mount it in a-pillars, dash corners, or door pods, wire it through an appropriate crossover, and level it to blend with your speakers. A crossover keeps damaging low frequencies away from the tweeter.
Even factory-powered, a quality tweeter adds noticeable air and detail. Surface, flush, or angled mounts each change how the highs reach your ears. A little off-axis aim can tame brightness in a reflective cabin.
A crossover is non-negotiable: sending low frequencies to a tweeter is the fastest way to damage it. Blending tweeter level with your mids avoids harshness and keeps the top end smooth.
Because tweeters are directional, small aiming changes can noticeably improve the soundstage. They are an easy, high-impact addition to almost any system that feels flat on top.
Angling the tweeter toward the opposite seat can widen the soundstage. A tweeter that is too loud sounds harsh, so blend the level with your mids.
Series or in-line crossovers protect the tweeter from low-frequency damage.
Taken together, the Solo-60 balances real capability with sensible design, which is why it fits so cleanly into a practical, results-first build.
The best results come from treating every part of the chain with the same care, from the source and signal to the power and grounding behind it.
A component like this rewards a patient, methodical install far more than it rewards rushing to turn the volume up on day one.
Set up with care, the Solo-60 quietly does its job every day, and that reliability is exactly what most builders are really after.
Thinking through placement, wiring, and tuning before you start is what separates a clean, lasting install from one you end up redoing.
Good sound is the product of good decisions made throughout the build, not of any single part working in isolation.
As part of a balanced system, the Solo-60 pulls its weight and leaves you with a setup you can trust over the long haul.
When the wiring is clean, the gains are set sensibly, and everything is matched, the whole system simply performs the way it should.
Protecting connections from moisture and vibration is what keeps a system sounding its best over the long term. The difference between a good install and a great one usually comes down to patience and attention to the small details.
Choosing gear that fits your actual listening habits beats chasing numbers you will never use in daily driving. A stable electrical system keeps voltage steady so the sound stays consistent from idle to highway speeds.
Thoughtful placement of each component improves both the sound and the look of the finished install. Regularly checking that terminals stay tight prevents the slow creep of resistance and noise over time.
FAQS
- Do I need a crossover for the Solo-60?
Yes, always run the Solo-60 through a crossover to keep damaging low frequencies out. Matching tweeter sensitivity to your mids keeps the blend natural. - What impedance is the Solo-60?
The Solo-60 runs at a standard car audio impedance, matching standard car audio amplifiers and head units. Protective caps or grilles guard the dome without dulling the sound. - Where should I mount the Solo-60?
Mount the Solo-60 near ear level, such as in a-pillars or dash corners, for the best imaging. Placing tweeters high reduces the sense that sound comes from the floor. - How much power can the Solo-60 handle?
Match the Solo-60 with clean amplifier power appropriate to its rating and set the gain carefully. Small level adjustments make a big difference in how detailed the top end feels. - Does the Solo-60 need an amplifier?
The Solo-60 can run off head-unit or amplifier power depending on your system and crossover setup. Tweeters bring the detail and air that make a system sound finished rather than dull. - What makes the Solo-60 sound clear?
The Solo-60 is built to perform reliably as part of a quality car audio system. Mounting height and aim have a large effect on imaging, so ear-level placement usually sounds best.
