Description
The P5TW is a 1", 4-ohm, 300W RMS tweeter from DB DRIVE, built to bring real performance to your car audio system. It adds crisp, clear high-frequency detail that factory speakers usually miss. Whether you are upgrading a factory setup or building something more serious, the P5TW is designed to deliver dependable results that you can hear.
The P5TW is chosen by installers who want a component that simply works, integrating cleanly into the rest of the build. Instead of chasing gimmicks, the P5TW focuses on doing its core job well so the whole system benefits.
It completes a system by extending the top end for brighter, more detailed sound. In short, the P5TW is a practical, no-nonsense choice for anyone who wants to move past the limits of a stock system without overcomplicating the build.

INSTALLATION & COMPATIBILITY
Mount it in a-pillars, dash corners, or door pods, wire it through an appropriate crossover, and level it to blend with your speakers. A crossover keeps damaging low frequencies away from the tweeter.
Install it near ear level for the best imaging, high-pass it with a crossover, and set the level so the highs stay smooth rather than harsh.
A crossover is non-negotiable: sending low frequencies to a tweeter is the fastest way to damage it. Blending tweeter level with your mids avoids harshness and keeps the top end smooth. Because tweeters are directional, small aiming changes can noticeably improve the soundstage.
A little off-axis aim can tame brightness in a reflective cabin. Matching tweeter sensitivity to your mids keeps the blend natural.
Protective caps or grilles guard the dome without dulling the sound. Placing tweeters high reduces the sense that sound comes from the floor.
Small level adjustments make a big difference in how detailed the top end feels. Tweeters bring the detail and air that make a system sound finished rather than dull.
Mounting height and aim have a large effect on imaging, so ear-level placement usually sounds best.
Taken together, the P5TW balances real capability with sensible design, which is why it fits so cleanly into a practical, results-first build.
The best results come from treating every part of the chain with the same care, from the source and signal to the power and grounding behind it.
A component like this rewards a patient, methodical install far more than it rewards rushing to turn the volume up on day one.
Set up with care, the P5TW quietly does its job every day, and that reliability is exactly what most builders are really after.
Thinking through placement, wiring, and tuning before you start is what separates a clean, lasting install from one you end up redoing.
Good sound is the product of good decisions made throughout the build, not of any single part working in isolation.
As part of a balanced system, the P5TW pulls its weight and leaves you with a setup you can trust over the long haul.
When the wiring is clean, the gains are set sensibly, and everything is matched, the whole system simply performs the way it should.
Clean power and a solid ground are the quiet foundation that every other component in the system depends on. Taking the time to route wiring neatly and protect it from heat and movement pays off in reliability for years.
Matching impedances and power levels across the system prevents the mismatches that lead to weak or distorted sound. Sound deadening is one of the most underrated upgrades, cutting road noise so the system can be heard at lower volume.
FAQS
- What impedance is the P5TW?
The P5TW runs at 4 ohms, matching standard car audio amplifiers and head units. They are an easy, high-impact addition to almost any system that feels flat on top. - Where should I mount the P5TW?
Mount the P5TW near ear level, such as in a-pillars or dash corners, for the best imaging. Angling the tweeter toward the opposite seat can widen the soundstage. - How much power can the P5TW handle?
The P5TW is rated around 300 watts RMS; match it with amplification near that figure. A tweeter that is too loud sounds harsh, so blend the level with your mids. - Does the P5TW need an amplifier?
The P5TW can run off head-unit or amplifier power depending on your system and crossover setup. Series or in-line crossovers protect the tweeter from low-frequency damage. - What makes the P5TW sound clear?
The P5TW brings a 1", 4-ohm, 300W RMS design to your build. Even factory-powered, a quality tweeter adds noticeable air and detail. - Can I add the P5TW to a factory system?
Yes, the P5TW is easy to add to a stock or aftermarket system for brighter, more detailed highs. Surface, flush, or angled mounts each change how the highs reach your ears.
